MOOC Course – A caça da baleia e os portugueses

This Massive Open Online Course is based on the history of whaling as practised by the Portuguese in different geographical areas — including mainland Portugal, the Atlantic islands, and Brazil — from the Middle Ages to the Contemporary period.

It offers insight into the protagonists of whaling, the techniques and means employed, the products obtained and their uses, as well as the development of whaling heritage and the transition from whale hunting to whale watching.
